How much does a website cost in 2026? What you actually pay for

How much does a website cost?

For a small or mid-sized business, a custom website from a professional agency usually costs a few thousand euros. The price depends on the number of pages, the features, who writes the text and how much the agency charges per hour. In Germany, agencies typically charge €80–150 per hour (sellwerk.de).

At Triquon, prices are fixed before we start:

PackageGood forFrom (fixed price)
Go OnlineBusinesses that aren't online yet: a one-page site plus Google and social profiles€490
Business WebsiteA complete website, up to 10 pages, that brings in enquiries€1,490
Online ShopSelling products online with payments and shipping€2,490
Website CareHosting, updates, backups and small edits€49 per month

Most of our projects cost between €1,500 and €6,000. See every package on our pricing page.

What does the price actually pay for?

A website is mostly hours of skilled work. In a typical business website project, those hours go into:

  1. Planning. Understanding your business, your customers and what the site has to achieve. Deciding the pages and the structure.
  2. Design. A layout made for your brand, for desktop and phone, not a template with your logo on it.
  3. Development. Building the pages so they load fast, work on every device and are easy for you to update.
  4. Content and SEO. Page titles, descriptions, headings, image text and Google Business Profile, so people can find you.
  5. Legal and privacy. Cookie consent, privacy policy and imprint where your market requires them.
  6. Testing and launch. Checking forms, speed, phones, browsers and accessibility, then moving the site live without losing your Google rankings.

Here’s the simple maths: even a lean project of 25–40 hours costs €2,000–6,000 at €80–150 per hour. That is why good agency quotes rarely start in the hundreds.

Why are some websites so cheap?

Offers of a few hundred euros usually skip some of the steps above. Common gaps:

  • a ready-made template that looks like thousands of other sites
  • no real SEO, so the site isn’t found on Google
  • slow loading, especially on phones
  • missing cookie consent, privacy policy or imprint
  • no one to call when something breaks

A cheap site that brings in no enquiries is the most expensive option in the end.

How does Triquon keep prices fair without cutting quality?

We do every step above, at a fixed price. The difference is where and how we work:

  • We work from Prishtina, Kosovo. Our running costs are lower than in Berlin, London or Zürich, and we pass that on. The standards are the same.
  • No account managers in between. You talk to the people who design and build your site, so nothing gets lost and no hours are spent passing messages on.
  • Fast by design. We build lean sites without heavy plugins. Our own website went from 64 to 99 in Google’s mobile PageSpeed test after we rebuilt it this way, and lean sites cost less to maintain.
  • A fixed price, before we start. No hourly billing and no surprises on the invoice.

You can see the results in our case studies, for example a law and tax firm in Germany and a door and flooring studio in Bretzfeld.

What running costs should you plan for?

The project price is a one-time cost. After launch, plan for:

  • Domain: around €10–30 per year
  • Hosting and care: our Website Care plan covers hosting, updates, backups and small edits from €49 per month
  • Changes over time: new offers, photos and pages

How do you compare website quotes fairly?

  • Ask for quotes for the same scope: same pages, same features, same languages.
  • Ask for a fixed price, not an hourly estimate.
  • Ask what’s included after launch, and what it costs per month.
  • Make sure you own the domain, the code and the content.
  • Open the agency’s real projects on your phone and check how fast they load.

Summary

A good business website costs a few thousand euros at most agencies because it takes real hours of skilled work. We do the same work, at a fixed price from €1,490, because we keep our costs low, not our standards.
